Well it has been a little while since I last posted a blog. Sorry Andrew and Jamie!
Daisy is cruising the world on her belly. She pushes up on her arms when she is on her belly and pushes herself backwards. She is pretty quick to move herself around like this. She is also spinning around on her belly using her arms to move herself. She is learning how to get to something she wants by joining these two movements together - shuffle backwards and then spin to reach the toy. Very funny to watch.
Daisy has learned to clap hands. She was watching me do it a couple of weeks ago and I thought I would try to teach her so I showed her how to do it with her hands and then did it in front of her and then she did it by herself. She is such a gifted child!! For a while clapping took the place of wave. When we would say to her wave bye bye she would start clapping. This made us giggle. But now she has both things almost perfected - she will wave when we say bye bye and clap when she is happy or when we are saying clap clap.
She still loves the show "In the Night Garden". She doesn't get to watch it every night but when she does watch it you can see she is so excited. She has a huge grin on her face and makes an excited laughing sound. Her repertoire of sounds is ever increasing. She has added Mumumum to her vocabulary. She usually says this when she is hungry :) or while she is eating her solid food.
We had a visit from Clive, Veronica and Josh Jupp on Father's day weekend. It was lovely to see them and for Daisy to meet them. There will be some photos of this visit on the September photo slideshow when I get them up. Tony Jupp is coming up in early November which we are looking forward to. After that Daisy will need to meet her Aunty Tracy and she will have met all of Graham's brothers and sisters.
We went to the Jetty markets yesterday and had a lovely morning sitting listening to some live music and eating some yummy pizza. Daisy also decided to eat a leaf that she pulled through a little hole that our last dog made in our picnic blanket. She was coughing and spluttering and I put my finger in her mouth to get it out and managed to push it down her throat instead. Thankfully it seems she swallowed it. It made me have a little panic attack though. Choking is my nightmare! Makes me wonder - should I stick my finger in her mouth when there is something in there that shouldn't be or should I wait for her to cough it out? What do you think? Comment below and let me know. There will be some photos of the nice parts of the day in the September slide show.
Daisy has been making friends with Liam Ryan (2yrs 11 mnths). Up until recently they have not shown much interest in each other but they are really starting to interact now. It is very cute to watch. Yesterday Daisy kept trying to eat Liam's sandwich and Liam was trying to feed her his pizza crust. Liam loves Daisy's drink bottle. They share (germs:)) beautifully! I am sure they will become great mates!
Anyway Daisy is awake so I better go and get her. I will get a new slideshow up ASAP.
Keep well everyone!
Love Fe
I know Liam is very advanced for his age but you've given him an extra year of experience that he doesn't qualify for (he's only 1 yr 11 months!). Lovely shots, will have to get a copy of us as the markets.
