Hi Everyone
The past week or so has been another busy time. We went up to the Gold Coast on Friday 8th October and stayed at Mark, Vicki, Emily and Will's place. Early Saturday morning we drove up to the Brisbane airport to welcome Andrew and Jamie home. It was lovely to see them come through the gates and even better to give them a hug. We went home to Jamie's parents place for a delicious breakfast. Daisy was a little out of sorts - there were about 17 people or so there for breakfast. My guess is she was a little overwhelmed.
Daisy has been getting more clingy and less happy to give people cuddles or smiles if she does not know them very well. This is new - not sure that I love it. She has been crying more and more as a result of this "stranger danger" development.
Andrew and Jamie came to Mark and Vicki's on Sunday for lunch/dinner. It was so great to spend time with the family - only mum and dad missing now - they will be home this weekend. Can't wait!
We came home on Monday. Andrew and Jamie came down on Tuesday and stayed for a couple of nights. We went for a lovely picnic on Wednesday and we were nearly killed!!!! Check out the October photo slideshow. We were sitting on the picnic rugs having a lovely time checking out the lake and then we moved to the picnic table to watch the Webber BBQ cook our food. Just as well we did as just a short time later a very large limb of a tree fell just where we had been sitting. Graham would have been squashed and my guess is that he may not have survived it. It was a very heavy branch. Graham and Andrew tried to move it but it was too heavy. We were lucky it didn't hit us as we sat at the table - you can see how close it came in one of the photos. Our esky and picnic set weren't so lucky! Squashed!!!!! Who would have thought a simple picnic could potentially be the end. Thanks to God for looking after us!!!!!!!
Last weekend we had some beautiful weather and we decided to take Daisy out on her first push bike ride on Saturday. The Watts Family donated a bike seat for Daisy to use - thanks to Peter and Mikey!! Daisy loved it. She thought it was great fun. See slideshow for photos. We went out again on Sunday but got home a bit late for Daisy and she actually fell asleep on the bike seat. She woke up in tears when we went over a bumpy bit but fell asleep again - her little head was bobbing about. Thankfully we were only minutes away from home so I don't think she has any permanent neck damage :)
Today was Daisy's first swimming lesson. Graham went in with her today. Mieke and Justin (Mieke's dad) were there too. There were highs and lows in the lesson for Daisy. She quite liked the water until it came time to go underwater. She coped the first couple of times but on one of the dunks she took in a big chunk of water I think and got a big shock. She wasn't so happy after that. She gave the swimming teacher some very dirty looks. Hopefully next week will be a bit easier for her.
Daisy continues to bring endless joy to our lives. She is a little beauty.
Love Fe
