Hi Everyone
Daisy's Uncle Andrew and Aunty Jamie have inspired me to make a blog about Daisy so that I can share some of the exciting times we are having as Daisy grows up. I thought it would be especially nice for them and also other family members who live a distance from us and don't get to see her very often.
Daisy was 6 months old yesterday. We have 2 other friends who were born close to Daisy. Zac was born on the same day and Zac and Lana were our room mates at hospital. Mieke was born the day before Daisy. We met Carissa and Justin and Mieke a month or two before I fell pregnant. They live around the corner.
On Tuesday Mieke, Zac and Daisy celebrated their 6 month "birthday". We decided it had been a big enough 6 months for all involved that it was worthy of a celebration. We had lunch at our house. These were the people who celebrated: Fe, Graham and Daisy, Carissa and Mieke, Lana and Zac, Stacy and Lily-Mei and Katrina and Liam. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside in the sun and had soup for lunch followed by a lovely cake that Carissa created. It was a snake in the shape of a 6. Very cute!
Yesterday was 30th June and Daisy's official 6 month birthday. To celebrate we went to the clinic first and Daisy got weighed and measured. Daisy weighs 7.7kg which is a little above average (75th percentile). Her height is also a little above average. Her head circumference is in the 97th percentile - well above average. She needs a big head to hold her very intelligent brain!!!! I also have always had a very large head so my mum tells me.
After the clinic we went out for lunch at the Yacht club in Coffs. It was another beautiful day sitting in the beautiful winter sun.
We then went to the Doctor. Daisy had her 6 month check up and everything is going brilliantly. She also had to have her 6 month immunisation injections. Graham held her this time (I fed her for the last two lot of injections but she has teeth now!!!!) It was not very nice having her cry but as Graham said "Short term pain for long time gain". She was fine yesterday afternoon. She took a little longer with crying to get to sleep last night and woke up earlier than usual this morning (5:20am). She had a bit of a temp this morning so we gave her some panadol. Hopefully she will feel better after her sleep.
So that is it for the first post. I will upload some photos this afternoon.

This is a wonderful idea Fe! I'm impressed. It's amazing how much she's changed since she was a newborn, apart from the obvious size difference, the shape of her face and facial features have really changed! Well done you :)
ReplyDeleteEverytime I feel Daisy deprived I will be able to get onto her blog and see her. I love it.
