A busy couple of weeks

Hi Everyone

Since our last post we have been on a road trip, returned and had more family visitors. It feels like a busy couple of weeks.

Daisy has been getting more and more vocal and her personality is really showing lately. She is a funny little thing and has been constantly making us laugh. She is experimenting with her voice and squealing and giggling and making all kinds of noises. When I was imitating her one night recently she freaked out. She is becoming more sensitive to sudden noises and I have seen fear in her face when a noise scares her (poor little chicken). She has even cried a couple of times at a sudden loud noise.

She loves to give me kisses on the cheek (not Graham so much cause he is always spiky). The only problem is that sometimes her kisses involve teeth - ouch! She also loves to pull my hair - ouch again!

Daisy loves getting shoulder rides from Graham when we go for our beach walk each day. She sits on his shoulders and sometimes sits up nice and straight while Graham holds her arms or she sometimes crunches down and puts her head next to Grahams and grabs or bites his hair. So cute!!

Movement wise - she is getting higher and higher on her arms when she is on her tummy. She alternates between getting up high on her arms and using her legs to lift her bottom up in the air but hasn't managed to put the two together yet. We have bought a play pen on ebay in preparation for the beginning of crawling - we have a lot of other prep to do for this so I am very happy for her to take her time!

Daisy is pretty good at sitting independently now. I still usually put a cushion behind her just in case but she can sit up for quite a long time now without falling down. She can reach forward for toys and then straighten herself up without falling down.

She has a new game where she likes to lean back when you are holding her so that her head is upside down - she thinks this is great fun and will push herself back to get the head rush. She is also getting more and more ticklish. It's great fun making her laugh by tickling her belly or squeezing her legs to tickle her.

Daisy continues to love her food. She has not turned her nose up at anything yet really although she wasn't very excited with the rice and minced chicken that we gave her last night. She ate it but not very enthusiastically.

Daisy has had two nights recently where someone other than Graham or I have put her to bed. Graham and I have been out to the movies twice in the last few weeks. Mum and Dad came down and put Daisy to bed and babysat the first time and last week Katrina came over and did it. It was great to see a couple of movies and exciting that Daisy is happy for someone else to put her to bed. It's also great that we have lovely people who are happy to do this for us!!

The rest of this blog will probably only interest family members - non family are excused from having to read this bit :) xx

From 6th -10th August we went on a road trip to visit family. We spent Friday night at Graham's parents. On Saturday morning we went into Ballina to see Brad, Angela, Toby and Jennifer (Friends from Graham's Byron days). We then drove up to Mark, Vicki, Emily and Will's place (Fe's bro and family). We went to Fe's cousin's daughters Christening on Sunday morning and saw loads of Relo's. It was Glen Charlton's daughter, Breanna, who was christened. We saw the whole Charlton clan and their kids. Joanne and Wayne and kids were also there. It was a great day! It has been years since I have seen some of those people. We stayed at Mark and Vicki's on Sunday night and drove back to Ballina on Monday. We took Maureen and Ron out for lunch as a belated birthday celebration for Maureen. We had a short visit with Matt and Rebecca (more friends from Graham's Byron days) before spending the night at Graham's parents place. On Tuesday we returned home via a visit to Poppy in the nursing home and a stop in at Ma and Opa's place. (Busy 4 days hey!!!)

Yesterday we had Uncle Denis and Julie, Mum and Dad and Nan over for lunch. Denis and Julie are staying at South West Rocks and came up to visit us all and meet Daisy. It was a lovely day in the sun catching up.

Well until I blog again - keep well.

Love Fe xx
